What we collect
- Parent/guardian email — to create and manage your account
- Child’s first name or nickname — to personalize the in-game experience
- Child’s language — to set the game language for your child
- Voice interactions — processed by UG’s AI engine (see below)

Conversational AI & Voice
Hoppy Time integrates an AI-based engine developed and operated by Universal Grammar Ltd. (“UG”) as part of its conversational AI experiences. This means that UG will collect and process your child’s voice interactions provided through the app for the purposes described in UG’s Privacy Policy, available at uglabs.io/api-privacy-policy, subject to your consent.

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: Performance of a contract — processing your email, your child’s name, and language preference is necessary to provide the Hoppy Time service you signed up for. Consent — your child’s voice interactions are processed by UG’s AI engine subject to your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Third-party services
Universal Grammar Ltd. (AI engine) — powers the conversational experience. Processes voice interactions per UG’s Privacy Policy (see above). Google Firebase (analytics) — we use Firebase to collect anonymized usage statistics to help us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Firebase does not collect personal information about your child. See Firebase’s Privacy Policy.
Data storage & international transfers
Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, please be aware that your data is transferred to and processed in the US, a jurisdiction not currently deemed adequate by the European Commission. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including relying on Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
Data retention
Email, name, and language preference are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data in transit, restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel only, and regularly review our security practices. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Hoppy Time is designed for young children and is only accessible through a parent or guardian account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All data relating to your child is collected from you, the parent or guardian, with your explicit consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about your child without your consent, please contact us at privacy@hoppytime.com and we will delete it promptly.
In compliance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), parents have the right to review their child’s personal information, request its deletion, and refuse to permit further collection or use of their child’s information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (using the address on your account) or by displaying a prominent notice in the app before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Hoppy Time after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
